Board Certified Behavior Analyst
 
Portland Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst for immediate employment.  The Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) is a graduate-level certification in behavior analysis, licensed by the national Behavior Analyst Certification Board.  The practitioner serving in the role of the BCBA provides behavior analytic services in support of  students requiring this service and professional development, oversight, and collaboration with staff who provide behavioral programming.  In addition, the BCBA supervises the work of Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts, Registered Behavior Technicians and Behavioral Health Professionals, and others who implement behavior-analytic interventions.  In coordination with other leaders in the Student Support Services Department, the Board Certified Behavior Analyst collaborates to support the district vision, mission, and strategic plan.
 
Reports to: Director and Assistant Director of Student Support Services
 
Work Year:  District-wide responsibilities for PEA contract days (193 day contract)  and Level A stipend responsibilities
 
Requirements:     Current License as Board Certified Behavior Analyst
                              Master’s Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Behavior Intervention or related field
                              Knowledge and Experience developing evidence-based programming for students with low-incidence disabilities
                              Experience in developing and implementing behavioral interventions and behavior plans
                              Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis
                             
                             
 
Major Responsibilities:  To develop and guide functional programming for students being served.  To review data and trends to ensure that students being served are making progress in areas impacted by behavior.
 
 
  1. Work with district programs for low-incidence disabilities to fully integrate evidence-based practices in the area of behavior into the structure and approach of the classroom(s).
 
  1. Provide behavioral coaching and modeling for district programs for students with low-incidence disabilities (intellectual disabilities, autism, etc)
 
  1. Complete, or guide the completion of,  Functional Behavior Assessments and develop Positive Support Plans as needed for students in district programs.
 
  1. Ensure accuracy of individual student and program behavioral data.
 
  1. In collaboration with Special Education Case Managers, ensure accuracy and timeliness of required documentation associated with the development of Individualized Education Plans for students served.
 
  1. Collaborate with other therapeutic specialists (ex. School psychologists, Speech/Language Pathologists, OTs, PTs, special educators) to ensure that students’ behavioral and functional needs are met.
 
  1. Provide supervision and monthly professional development for Behavioral Health Professionals.
 
  1. Serve as a member of the Student Support Services Leadership Team.  Meet regularly with Director and Assistant Director of Student Support Services to review processes, patterns and trends to inform program development.
 
  1. Provide Professional Development for the district in the area of behavioral intervention and programming, as needed.
 
  1. Model and encourage integrity and ethical conduct while advocating for students’ rights for access to equitable opportunities to learn in the Portland Public Schools.
 
  1. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Student Support Services.
 
As part of the Level A Stipend and additional contracted work days, this position is required to:
 
Organize, lead, and/or participate in on-going professional development and training.
 
Meet regularly with Special Education Life Skills and ABA staff.
 
Meet regularly with District-level leadership.
 
Participate in 3 additional work days for customized yearly training.
 
Participate in 2 additional work days for new staff training yearly.
 
Serve as a resource to principals and school leadership in the area of behavioral interventions.
