Senior Class Advisor
 

Supervisor: Building Administrator
Contract Length: 190 days
Job Classification: Certified Teacher 
FLSA Status: Exempt
Compensation: $855

Job Summary

Works in coordination with senior class officers, the counseling department, and administration to organize Senior events, including Commencement and Class Night. Some specific areas of responsibility include: Class T-shirts, Class photo, Motto / colors, Senior Elementary School Walks, Valedictorian speeches, Class officer speeches, Program and set up for Class Night, Program and set up for Commencement, Rehearsals for senior events, Coordinating media releases with Director of Communications.

Essential Functions 

  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Organizing and attending senior year events
  • Have the ability to meet with students at the assigned times.

Qualifications

  • License issued by Iowa BoEE for high school teaching.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.

  • Ability to use computer network system, techonology devices and software applications.

  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coworkers and the greater community.

  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. 

Travel Requirements

  • Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
